| In July, the San Diego Convention Center introduced a new program designed to welcome the hundreds of thousands of convention delegates who visit our beautiful city with specially created signs that are displayed in the front windows of downtown retail establishments. |
Nearly 400 merchants from the Gaslamp Quarter, Sea Port Village, Horton Plaza and other downtown San Diego establishments have agreed to display the colorful 11”x17” signs in their window welcoming convention center attendees. The San Diego International Airport is also participating in the program and will have large posters, as well as electronic signage on display. The signs are distributed by the Center’s Guest Services staff a few days before the event starts, and they are prominently displayed throughout the event.
This special complimentary service is being made available to all of our convention and trade show clients. The brightly colored welcome signs include the logo and dates for each event. Each month clients can expect a member of the Center’s staff to contact them individually to coordinate their free custom signage.
“This program is just another way to welcome our
visitors to “America’s Finest City. Sometimes
it’s the special touches like these that help someone
who is visiting, or unfamiliar with our city, to feel welcomed,” says
Convention Center Corporation President and CEO, Carol Wallace.
